How to get rid of period or menstrual cramps. 10 proven Tips to reduce menstrual cramps.

We get mature at puberty. And during this time in women occurs some sequential changes in the sex organs. And this occurs throughout the reproductive life except during pregnancy and lactation. And we called these changes periods. During these periods women have to bear the pain of periods cramps for 2-3 days. During this time they have to miss work or school. This period cramps are normal. These periods of cramp are also known as Dysmenorrhea.

What are the period’s cramps?

This is an unbearable pain that is more or less the same as muscle cramping pain which occurs in the lower abdomen near the pelvic area and also radiates in the lower back and into the lower legs. This may cause discomfort for many women and is related to symptoms of nausea, vomiting, headache, back pain. These cramps can be treated according to types of period cramps.

What are the types of period cramps?

We can differentiate period cramps into two types – Primary cramps and secondary cramps.

Primary cramps: Primary mainly occurs due to the contraction and relaxation of the uterine muscles due to the secretion of prostaglandins. When the secretion of prostaglandin increases the pain increases. When this contraction occurs it pressurize the blood vessels which prevent them from supplying oxygen to the muscles. The pain is generally rising due to insufficient oxygen in the uterus. This pain remains for 2-3 days. And as you grow older or after the childbirth, the cramps generally becomes less painful for some woman.

Secondary cramps: Secondary cramps occur when you have a defect in reproductive organs that affects both the uterus and the reproductive system. These defects mainly include
endometriosis ( Outside the uterus in the fallopian tube a lining is formed which results in more severe pain), adenomyosis (when the endometrium tissue of the uterus begins to grow), uterine fibroids (noncancerous growth of the uterus), infection ( this usually occurs in the pelvic region of the reproductive organs of a woman). Secondary cramps start later in life but start developing during the childbearing years. Here the cramps starts one to two day before the periods and continued even after the menstruation stops. And as time passes it becomes worse. In secondary cramps, you don’t have the symptoms like nausea, vomiting, headache as in primary cramps.

Causes of menstrual pain: It is already known from the above that primary cramps are caused due to the contraction and relaxation of the uterine muscles due to the secretion of prostaglandin hormone. But the reason behind the increase of prostaglandin hormone is discussed below.

  1. Anxiety, tension, nervousness

Vitamin D - importance, source, deficiency, treatment

Vitamin D (calciferol) There are several compounds with Vitamin D activity occurring in several forms; this group of related Chemicals is together known as vitamin D.  So, vitamin D is a collective term for a group of compounds with antirachitic activity and includes ergocalciferol D2, cholecalciferol D3, and Dihydrotachysterol DHT2 and DHT3 together with their biologically active metabolites.
